welcome and relax your eyeballs on the relaxing and mesmerizing computer monitor.
This is the page of the strange and weird. Have a cup of tea and have some jelly babies.

can you see what is different about this picture? :D
no, i didn't modify this picture with Adobe photoshop or anything!!!! Nowadays, it can be quite hard to tell whether photos are really "real"..

Frogs are very fragile creatures since their skin absorbs moisture.
This is what happens when the frogs live in an area polluted by the evil empire of homo sapiens!! What sort of waste would cause such mutation? Now you can see the affects of how sensitive the frogs' skin is! Well, actually, these birth defects are found out to be caused by some parasites.. but frogs really are very delicate creatures. I touched a few in Hong Kong.. they come out often when it rains!

seaman @_@

Now, here is a very funny looking picture.. The more i look at it, the more stranger it becomes!! hehe! It isn't a real photo, but its a picture of a Sega Dreamcast game called "Seaman".. In that game, you raise a creature like this and you have to talk to it (in Japanese of course). When i first saw it, i was very surprised by the character design!! A fish with a human head!!! eeeks!! I wouldn't be surprised if the WORLD WEEKLY NEWS get a picture of it and post "Scientists Find Fish That Was Thought to be Extinct! fish is close ancestor of homo sapiens?!" haha! I bet *if* the head was that of a small baby, my cousin Lander would think it is very cute and adorable!! (eugh..) Anyway, this game is supposed to be translated into English and will come out here.. :D
hehe. Well, actually, the game has been translated!! My oldest brother Tom was one of the game testers!! Too bad his name wouldn't be in the credits though.. (he joined Seaman too late) So if you find out any bugs/errors, go and blame it on him!! @_@

CAPCOM_no_dinocrisis
character from Capcom's DinoCrisis game
When i went to the game store Electronic Boutique at Arden Mall, I saw this picture of Dino Crisis! I was shocked since i thought it was TMR!!!! I think TMR stands for "Takanoshi Makes Revolution"... .don't ask! TMR is a male singer ... i don't know much about him, but i saw pictures of him before.. He is currently married with one of the PUFFY musicians. My brother Tom said that he wanted to get a haircut like him before... (sweat drop rolling down).. but i noticed the weird/ugly black strips outfit that he was wearing!! what bad taste..
Who knows? maybe the character designers of Dino Crisis are also TMR fans.. . (sweat drop rolling down) I really think that they look so much alike!!!

"scotty! beam me up!"
I received a "Visual & Hard Shock Magazine" called SHOXX from my friend. She knows that I am a big YOSHIKI fan (pianoist of X) and it had 30 pages on him!! Browsing through the magazine, I thought "that guy is wearing something strange", because of the colors.. Look at the other band members, and you can see it stands out. Then i finally noticed that it was a Star Trek uniform!! I couldn't help but laugh!! hahaha!!! I would think that he is a Star Trek fan, or he wouldn't wear such a thing in a Visual Rock Group! I don't really know about him or his group.. but the band is "La'cryma Christi and the drummer is "LEVIN" .. Lieutenant Levin? Captain Levin? hahahaha!! it really fits!! Don't worry, i am also a Star Trek fan myself.. but to actually see a Japanese person, and even a Japanese Visual Rock band member wearing caught me completely off guard! *AND*, nonono, the other members do not wear Star Trek uniforms.. too bad!!! In fact, everyone has their own style! ... maybe even the Ferrengi will like their style! @_@ hahaha!! anyway if you are interested (i would feel bad if i feature *one* of the members anyway!), here, [link.] and see the excitement of their live.. there are some really good photos! And a few more BLUE NOTE style ones too! hehe. I like the second row pictures.. :D
to the next...

TOP: courtesty of BLUE NOTE (smile like Art Blakey!)
BOTTOM:"eeks! he's dead, Jim!"

One day, my brother sent me a link to the BBC news article that is about an amazing discovery of a strange purple frog in India!! Its scientific name is "Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis", and it is a non-Latin name for once!! It is from Sanskrit!
Look at the shiny eggplant-like colour!! So beautiful! Ah, the amazing work of nature. .. ..I wonder how it looks under the purple skin? White like an eggplant?! . . . .. ahem..
Here is a quote from BBC:
"The chubby, seven-centimetre-long, purple amphibian with a pointy snout was found hopping around in the Western Ghats, a range of hills in western India. Scientists have given it the name Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis, from the Sanskrit word for nose (nasika); batrachus, meaning frog; and Sahyadri, the name for its mountain home.
DNA analysis suggests the common ancestor of the animals lived 130 million years ago, when the planet's landmasses were joined together into a giant supercontinent called Gondwana. Its subsequent break-up would have sent the frogs on a diverging path of evolutionary development.
In a commentary on the research in Nature, Blair Hedges, of Pennsylvania State University, US, has described the discovery of N. sahyandrensis as 'a once-in-a-century find'."

(Detail)
From the Berkeley Public Library, I borrowed the American comic "Shi". It was a popular comic some years ago and the first issue was worth quite a few $$.. however with the dismal trend of comics today, perhaps it decreased in value. .. Anyway, its about an American- Japanese woman named Anna who specializes in Japanese arts and works in a museum or art dealership (I forgot!)... however, her secret is that she is actually a skimpy dressed superhero named "Shi"! "Shi" means "death" in Japanese.
Anyway, besides the fact that some of the pictures of the characters look as if they were copied straight out from some fashion catwalk picture (its the pose!!), This picture really almost made me fall down from my chair!! If you don't know too much about Chinese watercolour paintings, the fault is how that Yakuza (Japanese gangster) guy is painting that picture.. or how amazing or skillful he is to be able to "paint" the red signature seal!! In reality, you don't use a paintbrush to paint it, but you have a carved stone seal with your name to stamp it on your paintings. Sigh.. the artist should have studied Asian art history or something.. Also, the poor Yakuza is holding the paintbrush all wrong. You don't hold the paintbrush like a pencil. Bad technique!!!
Another minor thing that bothers me is that Yakuza's hair.. . so ugly.. .next.. ..

Another case of strange frogs in BBC news! Only, this time is a 3 headed and 6 footed frog!! "All the creature's eyes and legs appear to function normally, but it is not known whether it eats using all three of its mouths. " Wouldn't it be cool if it can eat with all three mouths at once?! so weird.. .
