[note: I am making a separate file because the file was getting way too big (+48 kg!) and not only that, i was so lazy to change it so the most recent entry goes to the top! @_@ .. ]

Right now, I'm playing "GAROU: Mark of the Wolves" in the arcade. What is it? Its the latest sequel of SNK's famous "Fatal Fury" fighting game!!! Its very fun too! I'm not good at it, but its very fun to play! (it only costs 25 cents too!) Well, after my last final on friday, i went to the arcade to play some games. It wasn't a particularly good final. (physics!) But some guys kept on hogging the machines that i usually played: SNK's King of Fighter's '99, and Strikers 1945 III (a shooter). They raised Strikers III again to 50 cents!! >( So i noticed some people playing Garou, and I saw the ending pose of the character Rock Howard (the son of the "bad guy" Geese Howard, and was raised by Terry Bogard!)! It was so beautiful! In fact, the animation and art is quite excellent! So i decided to check the game out. The art (in the game) isn't by Shinkuro (SNK artist who draws realistically) and there doesn't seem to be any black outlines.

13. April 2000

Second week of classes. Long day of half consciousness and nightmare. blue blood. (yawn) well, i need some sleep~

14. April 2000

Its been a long time, ne? I haven't updated anything for a while. However, in reality, i have many pictures that i haven't put up because of "no time" or laziness to write HTML.. . haha... I just had my chemistry lab yesterday. Horrible stuff. I bought some goggles and a long white polyester+cotton lab coat. The lab coat is kind of long.. (sweat drop rolling down), but they only have 3 sizes. Maybe i can modify it or something .. haha.. Already, its kind of dirty with lots of blue spots.. . especially on the sleeve.. it would be neat if it was red spots instead!! You know that many visual rock bands like to dress up as scientists in lab coats.. for example the bands La'mule (look in my visual rock band gallery), Malice Mizer, and Raphael.. . they dress up in all white outfits with blood spots!! haha!! Some pictures i seen were the band members doing some operation and getting their uniform bloody!! Well, chemistry lab is not very fun at all. Its very stressful.. First you need to do the pre-lab and set up the tables and charts.. . I always have to rush finishing my lab. AAa! Fung leeen!! come, take my class!! You like chemistry labs , don't you? @_@ (joking, Fung Leeen was with me in the horrid advanced chemistry class in high school.. after that, she doesn't want to have anything to do with science!! yes, a very sad sad true story! Good potential gone to waste [like her homepage too!!!!! :D] )

Oh.. new games in the arcade again!!
*Marvel VS Capcom II (wow! its also quite new in Japan too!!!!) This game has some 3D backgrounds.. and it has team play. I would very much say that this game is "Capcom's version of SNK's "King of Fighters" series. It features characters from Capcom's games (not only the fighting games, but also Rockman ("Megaman" in US), Strider, etc.. So its theme is very close to KOF, which also includes Ralf and Clark from the classic "Ikari warriors" game! I saw some guys playing it... its quite funny!! You know that Capcom's fighting games have very unrealistic fighting moves (for example: Vampire Hunter).. well,... i have to tell you about the character Jill. Yes, its Jill Valentine of Biohazard (Resident Evil in U.S.A.), who is a character of the game! I was wondering "hmm. .. what sort of fighting moves will she get??" Well, i found out.. She doesn't really have any special fighting moves (or at least the person who was using her didn't know them).. no projectiles or anything. The crazy move that she has is she steps back and move to the side, and then .. (a) a zombie will walk out and grab the opponent so Jill can attack freely! Yes, its the slow zombies from Biohazard that just won't let the victim go! The zombie doesn't walk to the other side of the screen though. It trips and falls about 1/2 of the screen!! Even when it falls, i still tries to grab the opponent's feet!! (b) a rabid (zombie?) wolf/dog runs and attacks (and Jill quickly leaps up in the air, avoiding the dog!) (c) a black raven flies and swoops down! OK OK.. crazy, ne?

The other new game is Strider II!!! Yes, its the sequel of the classic Capcom game, Strider!!.. hm.. i think Strider could be about 10 years old!! I'm not kidding.. its very old. It is also very new.. I'm very surprised that my arcade has it!! In fact, it isn't even in English! It is all in Japanese!! (sweat drop rolling down) I have to try it sometime!!

AA. i've done it again. i'm still lazy to put the latest updates down here. I think it would be inconvenient to look at the latest entry, don't you? But thinking aobut it,.. i would very much prefer to have this chronologically ordered from top to down.. aaa.. but it is no good for you readers to scroll through all the old stuff all the time as the log gets longer and longer... -_- ..
A funny thing about the name "captain's log" is that i took it from Star Trek. The captains of their respective TV series always have a narrative of an entry of their log and say "captain's log:stardate XX .. " What is so amusing is that there are no signs of paper or pencil in the Star Treks i see. In Deep Space Nine, i see these electronic "tablets" that are used for reports and such.. Isn't that harder to read than paper reports? I think its not very convenient. In some episodes, Captain Sisko has about 5 tablets in his hands and on his desk!! what a strange future! I think that drawing is very hard to do on the computer.. for me, pencil and paper are good friends! However, even English classes require one to turn in computer print out reports. I can tell why.. print outs are much easier to read than handwritten papers. However, some years back, i attended a stamp show/exhibition in San Francisco with my parents, little sister, and my father's friend. They had displays of very old letters. I was quite impressed with those old letters.. On these letters are very beautiful flowing handwritten words on the yellowing paper.. Such beauty seems to be lost in our world today. The writing is very ancient and very graceful. Each letter contains different styles of handwriting by each individual. Today, many people prefer to type out letters, reports,.. anything! Yes, it is quite convenient.. but it is also missing something. I remember that handwriting used to be very important in school. I still feel that way. (my handwriting is.. ugh. not very great! messy, with lots of "bleeding" marks on my notes.. caused by lost consciousness in lectures!) Perhaps in the past, the handwriting of a person could reflect that person's status. In ancient times before printing was invented, people had to make copies of books by hand.. I would think that this is a very hard and tedious task.. Of course, many errors and corruption also occured in the process as well. Sure, printing has really promoted literacy and access to books. However, printing is very "plain". Every letter is identical.. Of course, using a word processor on the computer, you can change fonts, but it still doesn't show/contain the energy and work done to write it. As in Nakajima Miyuki's song, she says about writing a letter.. "who would know my tears and desires? no one will... no one will.. ."
Anyway, by looking at one's handwriting, you might be able to guess what sort of person the writer is. For example, i tend to see many girls to write in a "bubbly" wide sort of handwriting.. Some people have very neat handwriting.. In my math class, we are learning "matrices", where there are rows and columns of numbers. I like to look at other people's notes and see how messy they are. Mines is quite messy i tell you! oh yes!! I have to tell you about ancient China. In ancient China, there are yearly tests for people to get a job in government. In fact, thousands and thousands of people prepare their lives for these tests. Getting a government job would guarantee a good life. These tests are actually very important process to hire the best people. To prevent cheating, they have people copy the essay portion of the exams!!! The reason is to prevent graders who might be friendly with a student to recognise the handwriting and grade unfairly! Test taking was taken very seriously!!! In my Chinese history text book, there is a funny picture of a "cheating shirt", a shirt with text written all over on it (completely covered in fact!! with barely any spacing at alL!!) to cheat on the test.. isn't that kind of hard to conceal? @_@.. :D :D

20.April.2000 -moku-

Next week is going to be a high speed roller coaster ride: three midterms = fun fun fun! I have my life science midterm on monday, physics midterm on wednesday (;_; oi, tasukete~!), and calculus (matrices) midterm on friday. I also believe that my Chemistry lab midterm is on the following monday too.. So, nothing is really going on. .. hope my eyeballs wouldn't pop out in the ride..

I hear sounds of bells' chimes
carried from the distant valleys
a voice so faint, yet clear
that permeates through the air
through the mountains
.. trees, and mist
i search frantically after the voice
sounding as if a beckoning whisper
chasing a changing silhouette
a dancing flame
finally collapsing in the moor
surrounded by the foggy mist
no where .. [lost]..
a sudden light giggle erupts
as i realize i am here
in the free silence of my origin

28.April.2000 -kin-

I think i've slept less than a total of 24 hours in the last week... Well, i just took my last midterm yesterday, but it was still quite a panic experience! I was so sleepy the day before that i couldn't concentrate on studying... After all, it was friday, a long week of lack of sleep has finally caught up on me! Well, i woke up looking like a zombie, and had to rush to class. I was a bit late, so i had to run to the class.. which was kind of far. That class was kind of interesting.. it was my life science class.. The professor was talking about "friendship" in living beings.. Why would you want to help someone else if you need to survive yourself? Anyway, so my professor (actually, 2 professor teach this class, but .. hehe.. they seem to alternate on different days!! @_@||) kept on talking.. and so i had to run to my math lecture to take my midterm.. By the time i reached there, they were already passing out the exams!! There weren't any empty seats. LuckilY (well..) i found one seat, but when i sat down after squeezing pass the seated people, the guy next to me said that there wasn't a table.. I didn't really care.. at least i got a place to sit!! So i took out my green binder to write on. However, my professor found out that there wasn't enough tests!! Some other people and I didn't have any tests!! So.. what did he do was he wrote the problems on the chalk board and told us to use our own paper .. (sweat drop rolling down).. Sometimes, one of the (stupid) TA was sitting down at the front and blocking my view!! aAAa!! well, in the end, i didn't have enough time to finish the test.. you know.. reducing matrices isn't such a fast task!! and the professor said that we must turn in our tests, or he wouldn't be collecting them anymore! So i quickly finished one more problem (lucky! but so messy.. out of 5 problems, i "finished" 4..) So when i handed my test to him (on regular line paper... ), he looked at it and said,"whats this?" I sort of panicked!!! haha... he has been collecting tests, but almost everyone had a test paper, not regular lined paper! ! @_@... I explained it to him, and he said something like "ohh. yes.." I had to staple my 2 sheets and handed it to him.. I got to say, what a strange day.. ne...

19.may.2000

hmm.. i haven't updated in a very long while. . Actually, i took the second math midterm today..and.. it wasn't so great either.. I now have one more midterm to go.. that is for physics. This quarter, i have 8 midterms total.. so i was constantly studying for one exam or another.

I guess i did do some interesting things. Such as going to the Festival of Books at UCLA and going to the annual "Powwow", which is some sort of Native American Indian tribal dancing contest (?).. In the Festival of Books, hundreds of "tents" were set up, transforming the campus to somewhat be a circus! I went with my classmate and we hung around only a few tents.. It was too bad that we didn't get to see all the stands!! We stayed at the Japanese bookstore "Kinokuniya" and the LA local comic book store "Hi De Ho Comics" tents most of the time... reading things!! ( @_@..) At that comic store tent, there was the artists of the comic book version of Simpsons signing autographs! It is free of course.. with a purchase of any Simpsons comic. I thought "why not?" and bought the first issue and waited a long time until it was my turn to have it signed. Of course, i didn't just stay under the hot sun, i was reading many graphic novels.. such as Usagi Yojimbo!! I was very surprised how good the stories were.. Anyway, the artist asked me what was my favourite character (haha.!! well, i am actually not a very big fan of Simpsons.. but.. :D) and I just answered Lisa Simpson.. so he drew a light sketch of Lisa with a pencil first and had one of those black permanent markers (which was funny, because i had the same one!!) and drew it. I was somewhat disappointed because the sketch of Lisa is quite almost exactly to the picture of Lisa on the front cover!!!! -_-.. oh well.

The powwow thing (i still don't know what exactly is it!!) was quite interesting. It took place on one of the Athletic fields. On the field were also many tents set up in a circle, enclosing a wide space in the center. These tents were for sitting down.. especially for the dancers and tribes. Actually, i think that tribes all over come and gather for this event!! To the sides were lots of tents selling all sorts of Native American stuffs.. such as jewerly, animal skins, pottery, dream catchers, skulls, beads and other accessories (parts to make the traditional Indian costumes!!).. etc. I actually bought a Northplains Indian arrow for $5, and some cheap arrow heads and some accessories. I was going to scan them (except the arrow, which is about 3 feet long), but.. =_=.. What really impressed me was the various costumes. Some were very fancy.. with feathers all over!! SOme people really look like exotic birds (IMHO)!
oh, i took some pictures of the Powwow thing, but i don't know when will i ever develop them!! One of my hobbies these days is trying to take some good photos. A problem is that i have to find a good time and object to photograph. I hope to take some pictures of some of the movies being filmed on campus sometime.. But that isn't very common.
as for this site, i did do some updates, but i forgot to update the news section!! aaa.. stupid, ne? I have quite many plans that i want to get started on.. but.. i don't know when i will have the time and materials.
On a different topic, my oldest brother is now working as a game tester at.. SEGA! (Sega of America, that is.. located in San Francisco). He is now testing the game SEAMAN, which i do have some pictures in my [HEN] section! It isn't really a "game".. its more like a simulation of raising a creature.. And you have to talk to it (via a microphone!) and it will talk back (as i hear...).. Well, it is quite an old game.. one of the first games on the Dreamcast, but it would take a very long time to translate all the Japanese (not only text, but all the voices!!) into English! And yes, we finally got a dreamcast (dricas for short) .. maybe 1 month ago!! Even i was surprised!!
well,.. i have to try to find an apartment ASAP for the next school year... so i will go and walk around i guess.. write down phone numbers... etc.. (i mean.. how do you go looking for one? The newspaper only represents a few.. and probably not the best deals..) Well, i don't know.. but i will try. see you next in..! aaa. the weather is way too hot these days.. summer already ..

26.may.2000

haha.. i was going to a homepage and it read:
"Sorry, you need to upgrade to Lynx in order to view this page. Please get it from http://lynx.browser.org
Rude, isn't it? :)
Please click on this banner to go to the "any-browser" version. Thanks! ^_^"
well,.. anyway.. most people will wonder what is so funny about it. The thing is that I always have to read a similar message, except that it is either "netscape navigator" or "microsoft internet explorer". And it is quite annoying.. Especially when they say stuff like "your browser is too old or even "ancient", go get it here [link]". I usually use LYNX for internet anyway.. its so fast, even though there aren't any graphics.. However things like Java script or frames really mess things up.. making it very hard to navigate. What makes me quite sad is that i guess that people do not really find that LYNX or even UNIX is good at all. Even the company CRL is going to discontinue their UNIX service.. because CRL was bought by another company.. and that company does not want to continue this particular internet service.. CRL is the main internet service we get so.. (sigh)

well, i have my last midterm on Tuesday.. and i really need to study about 6 chapters of physics. so.. who knows when i will get around and finally work on major updates for this HP (ka na~).. . after that.. however comes my finals.. ok. jya.

30.may.2000

Finally, i finished all my midterms!! I just took my 2nd physics midterm.. and.. ?? i thought on the test, "!?!" because the first two problems were so easy.. i thought i was crazy... hahah!! The third problem however... is quite hard.. Its proving some theories of lenses and mirrors (which, in fact, really makes my brain wacko.. virtual images? real images? gahh!!!).. I guess my professor thought the first exam was too hard or something!! :D (psst!! i got ~67/300, which is a "C"!!!!!!!!)

well, now all there is left is FINALS. .. which is very very soon. my first ones are next week (10th week of school.., the last week of school before the official finals week) Well, it is also going to be the end of the "luxorous" life at the dormitory. Not exactly "luxorous", but you know. .. no cooking, worries.. etc. So i plan to take lots of pictures and put it up in the [illusions] section... before we all clean up and move out..

09.june.2000

Two more left! I have finals on Monday and Wednesday. Some sad news.. My 2 year old plant "Benimaru" seems to be ill and is withering away!! I can't stop it ne.. Well, some weeks ago, i was poking the main stem where it is just touching the soil with a toothpick.. I did this because i noticed that there were some very strange growths there.. It looks like big lumps accumulated there for some reason.. so it was rather wide (maybe 1.5 cm diameter that narrows to .5 cm stem).. but when i poked it, the toothpick went through it!!

*.*!!! boy,.. was i ever shocked.. I compare this to horror movies .. such as the common scene.. the main guy (ok.. girl then) is completely unaware of something strange in the house! So she enters the living room and sees the back view of her mother sitting on the couch .. looking like she was watching the tele.. The girl then walks up from behind her mother and puts her hand her mother's shoulder.. "mother..?" Then her mother's body slumps down to the chair, and her face 1/2 eaten by maggots and larvae is seen. THe heroine then shirks away and with her hands on her face screams.. She then tries to run away.. lost innocence. (this scene was also in Devilman Lady!! =) )

So, i dug the soil and found that Beni-kun was infested with some small white insects!! @_@.. what was so bad is that their numbers are just too many.. and their tiny size makes it very hard to get rid of them.. I had to break off much of Beni-kun's root because it was "dead" and infested with those bugs.. . ughh...

I just went to my physics review session and it was very horrible. I was so tired.. and i have a very big headache. The TA gave us some sample problems to do.. but i didn't know how to do them.. ( =_=..) Last night.. i didn't get good sleep. My roommates were still studying.. and my roommate's friends were also in the room studying.. But i couldn't help it.. i needed to sleep (it was around 2:00 AM,. and i need to wake up at 9 AM).. so i just went to bed anyway, even though the light was on. I didn't really want to interupt their studying either.. and i thought i could sleep with the light on. (the bad thing is that i sleep on top of a bunk bed, which is much closer to the flourescent light..) And so i thought,"i'm tired.. i can go to sleep".. however, sleep did not happen for some long long time.. maybe an hour or so.. People were also talking in the room... oh well, maybe that is why i have such a big headache and sleepiness today ne. =_=.. (yawn) feel like a zombie ne.

Well, the other day, i finally got to watched an "expert" playing GAROU. For some reason, it seems like hardly anyone plays it.. There is usually someone playing Street Fighter (whatever), and Capcom vs. Marvel II. There are big crowds watching MvsC usually. Games like SNK's GAROU and KoF'99 (which is kind of "old" now i guess) aren't played that often. Anyway, that guy is way too good.. He was using my character "Rock Howard", and he had lots of fancy combos.. He was even using the "SURVIVAL MODE"!! Every time he played, he reached the near to the last boss.. and if he dies, he starts over again!! crazy ne.. So after i made sure that guy left (;) ) , i tried to copy some of the combos (and some of the specials i couldn't do!).. I couldn't really do them at all (sweat drop rolling down).. That guy had a very special move.. and i have no idea how he does it.. Even though the special desperation moves aren't difficult, i can't seem to reproduce them (|\- + |\-).. oh well, i'm using too many quarters playing in the arcade recently!! I can't wait to get to play KoF'99 on the Drimcast.. !! :D Lets hope that GAROU will also be released on Dricast too!!

18.June.2000

I'm back in back in Sacramento after the finals week... I did OK on my finals.. I hope... Incredibly, the physics exam was not very difficult.. however.. i'm not sure about if i really did them all correctly... My last 2 physics exams were really 3 hour monsters... But this one.. @_@...
Right after finals, i had to pack up all my belongings to move out of my hostel. I still have to find an apartment for next year though.. It took me a very long time to pack things up.. Most of my luggage were actually homework stuff and textbooks. I wanted to sell 3 books back, but they only bought 1 out of the three.. i got $6.50 for a $12.00 book. what a "rip-off" indeed!! The book was in quite a very good condition too. =_=....
My cousin, uncle, and aunt came from Sacramento to pick me up. Actually, they didn't come to pick me up specifically, but they needed to visit the school Cal Poly in San Louis Obispo.. which is about 1/2 the distance from Sacramento to Los Angeles.. They stayed at my uncle's house in Westminster (L.A.).. and Uncle Way also came to pick me up on Thursday afternoon. What i felt bad was that i didn't get to say good-bye to some of people on my floor.. I was quite in a hurry..so. gomen ne! sorry.. maybe i will see some of you guys next school year ne!
After they came to pick me up, we all stayed at Uncle Way's house until Saturday. However,. as usual, i got carsick while riding the car. I got a headache.. (and my cousin too!! :D :D haha) The next day, my cousin's friend came to drive us to the mall for shopping. So we went to the Cerritos Mall with my cousin's friend and her friend's boyfriend, listening to J-pop music from popular Japanese Dramas... Of course, my cousin had to go to the "cuties" shop of cute stationary, etc.. And she also had to buy souveniers for her friends too.. We also went in the Claire's accessories shop because they had a very cheap deal of 10 pieces of clearance jewelry for $5.00.. My cousin then told me to split it up.. i pick 5 and she pick 5.. She quickly selected hers already, but it took me some time to pick mines.. I could only pick out 4.. Which are quite interesting designed necklaces and bracelet.. They are kind of "industrial" type of jewelry.. silver metal...
After shopping, we still have time, so we decided to go to a beach. We went to a beach... but i didn't get to see which beach it was. The bad thing was that my cousin and I were not prepared to go to the beach: We were wearing pants and shoes!! So we had to roll up our pants as best as we could. It was a very hot day.. The sand was very hot to our bare feet on the beach!! Anyway, my cousin's friend wanted to build something out of the sand.. so everyone was kicking the sand loose into a pile... Then we all started to shape it.. However, my cousin and her friend were trying to decide on what to build.. a castle or what? While the sand was looking like a pyramid, i just decided "a turtle. yes. a turtle." And i was busy making the head and arms.. Then they said, " oh, it looks like a turtle!" So we all started to build our turtle.. When we were done, my cousin for some reason wrote a name on one of the turtle's arms.. which i thought was quite sad to our turtle!! Its similar to a brand on a cattle.. -_-. .. After that, we found lots of tiny clams on the beach and started to collect them.. They were still alive too!! Each wave pushes many of those clams onto the shore and the clams quickly use their "tongues" to dig into the sand!
After the beach, we went to eat dinner at a Japanese seafood buffet called TODAI. It costs about $20 per person!!! When you enter the restaurant, the workers say "irrashaimasse" to you.. There was so many different types of sushi, sashimi (raw fish).. there were also baby lobsters, crab, udon noodles, miso soup, korean barbeque, and many different types of desserts!! oishikatta desu yo! but.. i don't really eat the sashimi stuff.. Those raw fish .. well, i don't really like it too much. I tried it before in Japan, and it has no taste.. except for the soysauce. My cousin ate so many pieces of sashimi.. like there was no tomorrow!! She explained to us (for she was about the only one of us that was eating so many) that what is the uniqueness of sashimi is the different "textures" of various fish meat.. (sweat drop rolling down) well, still i don't get it.. I have this unpleasant feeling in the back of my brain about uncooked meat.. Such as tapeworm or roundworm eggs.. And those.. can grow up to 10 feet!!! It also takes a very long time to get rid of them.. I saw pictures of them in my life science textbook and in my life science demonstration section.. where there is a long long coil of a worm in a 1 foot tall and ~1 foot diameter glass bottle!!!

24.july.2000

hmm. well, last friday, i got to watch "Pokemon the movie 2000: power of one" on its opening day. I also got a limited special pokemon card that is free for the first week. My little sister like most of the kiddies today is crazy about pocket monsters.. The theatre was filled mostly with kiddies and some parents. When those pocket monsters appear on the screen, those kids would all excitedly say all their names! The movie had a short pokemon film first.. and there were not any humans that really appeared in the film.. thus, there was no human speech except for the pokemon Mewtwo (or whatever).. that had a few lines.. So most of the time, you hear grunts of pokemon, or them saying their names (they all speak like that.. such as the pokemon Pikachu can only say pikachu, or pika .. =_=). That film really reminds me of GON, a no text comic about a small dinosaur.
The pokemon movie itself wasn't too bad. But then again, i'm not a big fan of Pokemon TV, games, etc. I have watched a few episodes of Pokemon TV before.. and it doesn't really appeal to me too much.. Maybe it is the story or the characters.. But definately,.. the setting isn't so interesting. The story is about children trying to become "pocket monster trainers" and try to collect and train as many pocket monsters as they can find... What i don't really understand is this: sending kids out to become these trainers.. it seems to be like camping or something.. but how about school? The setting of pokemon is a very colourful world.. full of forests with pokemon.. mountains.. wilderness .. cities or advanced technology (other than T.V.s or computers) being shown is rare.

The character design style of pokemon also doesn't really appeal to me so much..
Because of my initial imagination of the setting, i find it not very consistent that the movie to have a complete cg (computer graphic) advanced flying ship. The ship is in a way similar to Star Trek's Deep Space Nine station.. and it has propelers everywhere.. In fact, it looks so similar to the style of ships in anime "Escaflowne".
The movie does have a strong environmental message that humans should becareful of preserving nature.

29.July.2000

I've been watching quite a few movies this past week. I watched "City of Lost Children" (French film), "Cronos" (Mexican film), "Fargo" (American film), "Leningrad Cowboys in America" (Finland film), and "Shin Kujaku-ou" (Japanese animation). Of all of them, i didn't like Fargo. Yes, foreign movies have a much different style from our American Hollywood produced films..

11.September.200

I watched some more movies: "Delicatessen" (In French; by the same directors by "City of Lost Children"), and "Life is Beautiful" ( Academy winning Italian film [surprising, isn't it??] ). They are quite good movies. However, one thing that bugs me about "Life is Beautiful" is the portrayal of the Jewish camps in WWII. After having read "Maus", a 2 graphic novel set about the author's parent's experience in the Jewish camps.. The movie doesn't portray it as dark miserable place of survival...
OTOH, I finally got an apartment in LA to live for the school year. It is in walking distance to campus.. but i haven't met my roommate yet.

1.Decembre.2000

Things haven't really been going too well this school semester.. finals are also coming... .. Lets see... .. I borrowed a Final Fantasy "Pray" CD from my friend recently. What was amusing was that there were tracks in English, Japanese, French, and Italian.. I think the same singer sings all of the songs.. A thing i didn't really like (and somewhat irritated me) was the lyrics. I don't know what Final Fantasy this CD is based on.. and i have not played any Final Fantasy games.. but the lyrics (well, reading the French songs) are quite.. well.. strange... Such as (a rough translation/summary):

I travel the galaxy searching in the night for my friend, the blue knight.. and from another song: to punish the evil and help the poor.. madame said can you find my kitten..

14.decembre.2000

Well, I finally finished my finals today. I had my organic chemistry and Life science II finals today... Both were not so good. My school year hasn't been too great this year.. .. Hopefully, it will be better next semester.
